Q:
How much does it cost to place a classified ad.
A:
Non-commercial
equine related ads are always free. Just submit your horse or
equine related item, about 50 words or less, contact information and picture and
email to tvasa@nntc.net. Most
generally I get posting done on weekends, so allow 5 to 7 days for your ad to
appears. Ads are posted for approximately 60 days. Please let me
know if your item has been sold so it can be removed. If you are a
business selling your service or items (including stud services & training, farm
& realty and pet ads), your ad will be posted for a very reasonable rate.
See information about posting a
Commercial Ad & related charges. Note: Horsetrailriders.com is
a regional website. Free ads are limited to Nebraska and bordering states.
Out of region rates are shown on the
Rate Tables.
Q: What is considered
"equine & equine related?"
A: Horses,
trailers, tack, certain farm equipment which may be used for horse chores.
Dog & pet ads are not considered equine related however, will be
posted with a paid rate. See Rate Tables.
Q:
What is a commercial ad?
A: If you are
running an ad to promote your business including
stud services & training, farm & realty and pet ads, your ad will be posted for
a very reasonable rate. See
ad rates.....
Q: Then why are
"non-commercial classifieds" free?
A:
Classifieds bring in viewers. My statistics show the classifieds are one
of the top hit pages on my website, right after the Home Page. These "free
ads" provide a forum for those persons who have an occasional horse or horse
item for sale but are not running a business. And it is those ads that
bring viewers back to these pages. Over
125,000 times and counting. Those viewers
will then see your ad & learn about your business. An analogy? Those
"free ads" are like a TV program and you are like the sponsor. Maybe
someday I'll charge for those, too. But for right now, I'm trying to grow
my website like you are trying to grow your business. You have to make
some deals!
Q: Are stallion ads
considered commercial ads?
A: Yes,
promoting you stallion is considered a commercial ad as you are providing a
service.
Q: Are Events listed free?
A: Yes.
Horse related events are listed free and I determine what fits that criteria.
(A rock concert with security on horseback does not fit the criteria unless the
concert is to raise money for horse trails) Just keep it simple for me.
When, What, Where & Who to Contact. Send it to
tvasa@nntc.net.
Fliers for your event can be added for $10. Why? Because if
fliers were free, I would get a ton of them and my hosting costs go up. So
for $10, I will post your flier and link it from the events page. If you
already have a flier on another web site, I will link it for free. Just
provide the link address. (Note, viewers of the Nebraska Horse Council
website also link to this site for events, so your event is being seen by
viewers other than Horsetrailriders fans!)
Q: Do you exchange links?
A: No. I
no longer have a links page. Its just too hard to keep up with. You
are welcome to post a link from your page to mine, but I can no longer
reciprocate.
Q: Do you barter?
A: Sure!
Tell me what you have to offer. If its worth it to me, we might be able to
work it out. (I'm especially fond of tack and camping supplies. And
I really need a generator, too! I use Nutrena feeds and I wear size....
Oops! too much information!) Got a horse resort? I like
those, too!
Q: How much are
commercial ads & how much space do I get?
A: Ad rates
vary depending on which page you want to place your ad. Wording and
graphics may be limited and must be approved by Horsetrailriders.com.
Most generally, if you can't say it in 50 words or less, then you need to buy a
page. Readers like the "short version". Too wordy, you will lose
them to the next ad. Horsetrailriders.com will design a basic ad for no
charge if you do not have one available. I'm no professional, though.
So don't expect moving parts and bouncing heads. Just the basics here,
folks!
