TRAIL CLEARING AT TWO RIVERS!  Bring your chainsaw, handsaw, gloves and muscle and join me at the horse camp at Two Rivers State Park on Sat., April 5 at 9:00 AM.  We will have a couple crews out opening up the trails along the river that have been severely overgrown the last few years.  Let’s give back to the park so we can have a great riding season!  Lunch provided to workers.  Contact Tammy Vasa if you can come so we have a count for lunch.  Call or text 402.416.6835 or email tlvasa@yahoo.com

Tack Sale!  An Old Fashioned Horse and Tack Swap Meet will be held on April 12 at Chance Ridge Event Center, located just off W Dodge Road at 508 N Skyline Road in Elkhorn.  Clean out your tack room and trailer and take this opportunity to offer up some of the horse gear you are no longer using:  saddles, tack, show clothes and other horse related items -- including horse camping supplies!  Bring it here in the heated social hall!  $30 for a 10x10 booth includes 1 table and 2 chairs ($25 for add'l booth).  Set up begins at 7:00 AM.  Doors open at 9:00 AM.  Sellers are asked to man your booths until 2:00 PM.  Horses Welcome for $10 arena fee.


April 12/13
The Friends of Peckerneck Trail Ride will be Held April 12/13 at Alma, NE.  Overnight camping available Friday – Sunday (primitive).  Water for horses; no potable water.  Ride starts at 10:00 AM both days.  Potluck Saturday evening.  Free will donations with a minimum of $5 to go toward the Friends of Peckerneck Maintenance Fund.  Contact 308-320-4908 Christine Wilson for info.  Join the Friends of Peckerneck Facebook Page!

Hastings Saddle Club Spring Charity Ride       
Location:  Prairie Lake NRD Area, West of Hastings, South of Juniata, NE

It is that time of year again! Our ride by Stanton, Nebraska will be June 7 & 8th.  Riders may come on the 6th. We will be riding Southeast of Stanton. We ride on sand pastures with a view. Cost is $50.00 for 5 meals and a country band on Sat. night. This ride is limited to 150 riders, so be on time. Ready for a new challenge with your horse?  Branching Out Competitive Trail Ride Clinic Competitive Trail Riding (CTR) will introduce you to a higher level of partnership with your horse, friendly competition and recognition of a job well done, education, thorough vet checks and horsemanship lessons, and the FUN sport of long distance riding.  Saturday June 7th, 2014 9:00AM – 2:00PM  Branched Oak State Rec Area, Area 2, Raymond, NE (NW of Lincoln)  $30 per rider (Limit of 25)  Minimum age of 10. Branching Out Competitive Trail Ride.  Branched Oak State Rec Area, Raymond, NE.  Governed by the Rules of the North American Trail Ride Conference.  NATRC B (one-day) Ride: Novice, CP 60 Rider Limit.  Come enjoy a long distance challenge through a variety of wooded areas and open prairie with beautiful lake views. Hastings Saddle Club June Trail Ride
Location:  Starts at Prairie Lake NRD Area
General Information:  $15.  Check-in table at the parking area from 7.30-8:45 am  Guided ride, will depart at 9 am and ride from Prairie Lake to Crystal Lake Rec Area (for lunch) near Ayr, NE (and return).  Route will be pastures, fields, and some road riding, approx 20 miles round trip.  Wagons are welcome to join in a road route which will cross with riders periodically.  Haul out at lunch available. Rough camping available at Prairie Lake--No services.  Meal accessible by vehicle and you are welcome to join us for meal only--$7.  RSVPs by June 7th are requested so we can provide adequate food.   Directions:  Prairie Lake--drive East of Hastings @ 5 miles on Hwy 6.  Turn South on South Juniata Ave, 2 miles.  Turn East on Prairie Lake Rd, @ 1 mile.  Drive is on South, Marked with sign.  Camping/Parking will be beyond the gate.  Flyers and more info on
